“Infinitesimal Fortitude”
plastic, dental plaster, DVD video projection

January 2008

It is so easy to dismiss the miniscule, unfamiliar and ordinary things in our lives.   I wanted to draw attention to the invisible and ignored. By putting this wall together I do hope that it truly becomes something to be immersed in and allow what is seemingly unimportant to move into a more prominent place.

This installation is made up of found materials from a plastic factory and a dental office basement. I use these materials as a projection surface for the video images. The video itself consists of close up aerial views of a road's surface. The environment creates a place where the elements merge and allow us to form new ideas about how we are looking at our world.
